Can Square run without internet?

Square has an offline payment mode, but payments taken offline are processed only when the device reconnects, and are declined if it does not reconnect within 24 hours. The merchant carries the risk on expired, declined, or disputed payments taken while offline. If your location loses connectivity regularly, weigh that before committing.
